2017: My Most Favourite Beauty and Makeup Product | ReeTheBeautyBee

Hey everyone!

I haven't uploaded a new blog in a while, I've been spending some quality time with my family and friends.
This means I have lots to write about in today's blog!

I have been using these products throughout this year, these products are my favourites and they work really well for me and so I hope that they do for you too.

You may recognise that some of these products have been on my blog previously which I'm still using because they work so well for me. Most products are new to my blog which is great that I get to recommend them to you.

So let's jump straight in to the first product of 2017 most favourites!

So my friend got me into Jo Malone Cologne. I went straight to the store and literally sniffed every single bottle on display. A few moments later I found my two favourites "Nectarine blossom and honey" and "Mimosa and cardamom". I would say that the nectarine blossom and honey is a light weight, sweet day time scent whereas the mimosa and cardamom is a slightly more heavy, woody, evening scent. They retail for £45.00 each for the 30ml bottle.

The next product of 2017 most favourites...
Pleasantly surprised with this purchase. I recently ran out of my bare minerals "warmth" which I was using for my bronzer. I've been using bare minerals for around 5 years so I decided to reach out for something new.
This is "Bronze Glow" by Collection, it retails at £2.99 it's an absolute bargain! I would say that the colour is almost an exact match to bare minerals "warmth". You only need a very small amount because the product is super pigmented. If you do go over board then it's super easy to blend out. Great size pan, cheap and cheerful- does the job and lasts all day.

Next on my list of 2017 most favourites...
And still...my most favourite foundation of 2017: Rimmel's Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation in the shade "Ivory". I won't ramble on about this foundation, I blog about it all of the time, it applies beautifully, sits on the skin beautifully, there are plenty of shades to choose from and currently retails for £5.80 in most drug stores.
I have actually been using this super cute mini Real Techniques contouring brush that my friends got me as part of my birthday presents. Although this brush is supposed to be used for contouring, I just find it applies my foundation so beautifully. The Real Techniques brushes are available individually or in sets in most drug stores.

Up next on my list of 2017 most favourites...
This amazing eye shadow palette! Just look at the beautiful colours! I've been creating lots of different smokey eyes using these gorgeous colours. They apply and blend out beautifully, lots of transition colours to choose from and buildable shades. I really like the brand NYX, they have really great products which are affordable and good quality, I enjoy using their liquid lipsticks too.
This palette was a lovely surprise gift from my mum for Christmas. You can find NYX products in most drugstores.

Next on my 2017s most favourites...
So I ran out of my Makeup Revolution transparent setting powder. I went back to the drug store to replace it but then I saw this.
I have heard that loose powders are supposed to be better at setting your makeup than baked powders so I thought I'd give it a go.
This transparent Collection Sheer Loose Powder retails for £2.99 in most drug stores.
I have been enjoying using this powder to set my makeup and for my t-zone, it's a great bargain and one not to be missed!

Next on my list of 2017 most favourites...
You may recognise this product as I've blogged about it before.
This is Makeup Revolution's amazing setting spray. This one is the "oil control" spray and I have to say it definitely helps my makeup to stay in place all day.
I absolutely love this product and I'm currently on my third bottle!
It retails for £5.00 it's an absolute bargain and it truly works.

Next on my 2017 most favourites...
I think I may have blogged about this mascara previously...
I'm on my second one! I love how this makes my lashes look so long and curly! This is Barry M's "Show Girl" mascara and retails for £4.99 it's a great mascara and very inexpensive.

Up next on my most favourite products of 2017...
This next product was actually sent to me by the GlamourBeautyTeam, if you go onto their website you can sign up to test and review their products for free.
So here we have Kat Von D's tattoo liner. I haven't heard of this product before so when I receive it I was super excited to try it out.
I can honestly say that this is the best liquid eyeliner I have ever used! I will definitely be purchasing a full sized one once it runs out. The application is easy, it stays in place all day.
The full size product retails at £14.99 so it is a little expensive than what I would normally pay for an eyeliner so hopefully mine won't run out for a while!

Next on my most favourite products of 2017...
Another product sent to me by the lovely GlamourBeautyClub. This is another product by Kat Von D, this is the "Studded Kiss" lipstick range in the shade "Mercy". These lipsticks retail for £10 online, this is an average price for a good quality lipstick.
I have been wearing this lipstick almost every day during the Autumn and Winter season.
It applies easily, good pigment and dries down slightly matte so it doesn't easily transfer.

My next favourite product of 2017...
During the Autumn and Winter season my skin always gets dry and so I go through moisturising creams super quickly and spend a ton of money on higher end products.
I have discovered that some cheaper moisturising creams contain exactly the same ingredients as the more high end creams and do exactly the same job.
I started using this moisturising cream from my local drug store, it retails at £1.50!
It absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft.
This product is a hidden gem! I'm so glad I've found it and saving so much money by using it instead of the more expensive creams.

Lastly but no means by least of my favourites of 2017...
Of course my Collection lasting perfection concealer is going to be in my favourites of 2017!
I've lost count of how many bottles I've gone through of this amazing stuff!
Currently retailing for £4.19 in most drugstores, it used to be cheaper but I think they've realised how good it is!
I use the shade "fair". It's great for brightening under eyes and the high points of your face for contouring.
If you're using a more expensive concealer then I recommend you to buy this one next time, you could be saving so much money!

Thank you for reading my blog, these products are my absolute favourites and I have loved using them throughout the year for my day to day makeup looks. I love sharing these products with you for you to try and also to save some money too!

Autumnal hairstyle ideas | reethebeautybee

Hello everyone,

I've been playing around with some hair ideas, a few in particular I have been doing on friends and on myself.

I have been practising my french braiding skills and recently started experimenting with different ideas.

They can be worn more tightly for a more formal look or worn loose for a casual look. Either way these hairstyles will look stunning on everyone.

The first hair style is very simple.
  1. Part your hair into two sections
  2. French braid both sections of your hair
  3. Use bobby pins to secure the left braid to the right side of your head
  4. Pin the right braid to the left side of your head so the braids cross over
  5. For a more casual look pull the front pieces of hair loose

This next hair style looks complicated but I promise it is not!

  1. Begin french braiding at the top side of your head
  2. keep braiding around your head until you reach the position where you want to create your side bun.
  3. Secure the braid with a clear elastic
  4. Braid the rest of the hair normally and secure with another elastic band.
  5. Pull the braid to make it loose and bigger, twist it around to create your bun and secure with bobby pins.

I actually created this hairstyle today as I was experimenting with ideas. This look is super simple!

  1. Simply braid your hair at one side near the front of your hair and secure with a clear elastic band
  2. Pull the braid to make it loose and bigger
  3. Tie the rest of your hair into a side pony tail
  4. Remove the clear elastic band from the braid now that the hair is secure in a side pony tail
  5. Begin tightly twisting the pony tail all the way down to the tip of the hair and then begin wrapping the twisted pony tail around into a bun. Secure the twisted bun with a hair band.
I hope you enjoy this blog post and you find it useful!

Autumnal makeup tips and recommendations | reethebeautybee

Hi everyone!

I can't believe how quickly the year is flying by and it's already October?! It's my favourite time of year because it's all about Autumn! I absolutely love everything about Autumn, cosy coats, boots and jumpers, colourful leaves, woodland walks and hot chocolates- what's not to love?

On today's blog I wanted to share some makeup tips and ideas with you, I've been playing around with some different ideas and hope you find some of them helpful!

Today's makeup look was inspired by Autumn of course, a deep plumb lip with an auburn smokey eye.

If you are interested in how I created this look, then keep on reading :)

I always begin my day by cleansing my skin with Garnier's Micellar Water with infused oils and a cotton wool pad. The oils are really good at removing the stubborn waterproof makeup.

Purchased from Superdrug £5.99

Once I have removed any remaining dirt and oil from my skin I moisturise using Garnier's Hydrating Skin Naturals, Fresh Naturals Essentials 24hr day for normal/combination skin.

Purchased at Superdrug £3.05.

If you do not have a moisturiser then use a suncream, it works just as well while protecting your skin from UV rays that speeds up ageing on our skin.

Once my face is nice and clean I begin my makeup! Starting with Makeup Revolution's Ultra Face Base Primer, I take a pea size amount, rubbing it between my fingers and distribute it to my oily areas which are my forehead, sides of nose and chin.

Purchased at Superdrug £5.00.

Once the primer has settled into the skin and dried nicely I take my favourite foundation, which, at the moment is Rimmel London's Long Lasting 25hr foundation in the shade 100 Ivory. I like to apply the foundation using a damp beauty sponge which gives the illusion of an airbrush finish once dried.

Purchased at Superdrug £8.29
Also at Superdrug Beauty Sponge £3.32

Now that my foundation is evenly applied I like to go in with my concealer, I'm not shy when it comes to concealer. My favourite has always been Collection's Lasting perfection and I use generous amounts under my eyes, down my nose, between my eyebrows and on my chin. I then blend them out using my beauty sponge. I go through these concealers quickly and usually need to buy a new one every month!

Purchased at Superdrug £3.99.

Now that I have applied my foundation and my concealer I like to lock it in using a translucent powder. Loose powders are usually the best for this job but I have recently been using a baked one which has been serving me very well. I use a large makeup brush to pat the powder under my eyes, on my forehead, down the sides of my nose and on my chin. I do a light dusting for all areas where I tend to get oily through the day. I do not brush the powder onto my face as this can move the foundation and concealer around which is NOT a good look. I have been loving Makeup Revolution's Pressed Powder in the shade Translucent. As you can see from the photo- it is well loved!

Purchased at Superdrug £2.00

Now that my face is set I like to go in with my BareMinerals loose powder in the shade Warmth. This shade is suitable for all skin tones you can use as much or as little as you like depending on your skin tone. I love this powder, I've been using it for over 5 years it truly is my holy grail. I always have this powder in my monthly favourites and recommend it to everyone, it's flawless, simple to use and looks beautiful.
I use this powder to warm up my face, lightly dusting it around the perimeter of my forehead, under my jaw line, cheek bones and sides of my nose for definition.

Purchased as part of a kit from Boots for £39
You can find it elsewhere online.

Now that my face is contoured and warmed up I apply a blusher on the apples of my cheeks. I have been using Sleek's baked blusher in the shade Rose Gold. It's a beautiful colour and gives a shimmer of gold to give you a natural glow.

Purchased at Superdrug £4.99

Moving on to my most favourite part, because a natural glow just isn't good enough- it's time to highlight those cheek bones! I am in love with Makeup Revolutions Vivid Baked Highlighter. It's super pigmented, I've raved about this highlighter on previous posts but it's worth it. If you want to look like the ice Queen then you need this highlighter in your life! I literally use it every day. I apply this highlighter with my fan brush on my cheekbones, tip of nose, cupid's bow, brow bone and inner corners of my eyes for that extra snap!

Purchased at Superdrug £3.00

Time to put my brows on! I have started getting my eyebrows threaded and luckily they stay in shape for a good couple of months. They are naturally darker than my hair colour and so I usually get away with just dusting a little bit of my Mac devilishly dark powder along any sparse areas. I apply the powder using an angled small brush. As you can tell from the picture, this product is very well loved and used every day!

This quad can be purchased online.

It's time to get creative! I love this palette from Makeup Revolution, it's called Girl Panic! I received this palette for free as I made an order over £15 on Superdrug. It has so many beautiful colours and lots of different looks to be made using them. On today's look I used the beiges, browns and auburn shades to create a gorgeous autumnal smoked eye. The colours apply effortlessly, blend well and are long lasting.
I use a small brush to apply the lighter shades to the eye lid and brow bone and another small brush to apply the darker shades to my crease and outer corners.

Girl Panic palette by Makeup Revolution £6.00

I felt this look needed a bit of added drama and so I applied some black eyeliner to my waterline which transformed the look and instantly made the look more sassy. I've used my Maybelline Master Smoky Smokey Shadow eyeliner pencil for years, I highly recommend it. It comes with a small sponge at the end to blend and smudge for added sexy smokey looks.

Purchased at Superdrug £2.95

This look definitely needs lashes, it would look amazing with some dramatic false lashes but I didn't have any so mascara had to do. Luckily, I have an amazing mascara by Barry M called That's How I Roll. The brush is very unique, flat on one side and combed at the other side of the wand. It grips the lashes well and coats them evenly with the product giving me long and curled lashes. I use this on my upper and lower lashes and usually do two coats for extra va va voom!

Purchased at Superdrug £4.99

I was definitely looking for a deep red lip to complete this look to get that Autumnal feel. I actually ordered this Color Castle liquid lip in the shade 10 online which feels like a few months ago. It arrived today! I couldn't wait to get this on my lips. Honestly, I'm not crazy about the packaging, it feels quite cheap and there is no scent which isn't too bad but I do like a slight scent for lip products usually. The applicator again is quite cheap and quite hard when applying. The colour itself needed to be reapplied a few times to achieve the full coverage that it claims to have. I was supposed to be dazzled with glitter once rubbing my lips together which did not happen and I was disappointed by that, although once it dried down it had a really pretty shimmer and is non transferable which is great. Overall I would not recommend this product as it isn't what it claimed to be but I did like the final look and will wear it again.

Colour Castle Crushed Diamonds Purchased from GlamorBoutique.co.uk £6.99

The final look is complete and now all that is left to do is spray my whole face with my oil control setting spray from Superdrug.

Thank you for reading my blog, I hope you find some tips and recommendations useful!

June's Recommendations For You | ReeTheBeautyBee

Hey!

I just wanted to thank you for reading my blogs, I've been blogging for over a year now and I really enjoy doing it and love trying out products to recommend to you.

I recently hit 9,000 views on my blog which motivates me more than ever to carry on writing about products which I feel you would enjoy using and that won't break the bank.

I'm an average girl, working full time, living with my husband and our pug George and cat Mog. I can't afford to spend lots of money on expensive products so the ones I find are usually drug store which work perfectly fine for me and my purse!

In between working full time and looking after my little family I love to sit down with a cuppa and make a new blog as I dig out my notes and Post-It's that I've been hoarding over the weeks to share with you.

So hello and good bye to June, what a lovely month it has been! We had some beautiful weather throughout June, temperatures were literally through the roof at 32 degrees celcius on a couple of days! My husband and I managed to sneak away for a week in Tenerife at the beginning of June which was amazing. If you are thinking of going on holiday this year then I strongly recommend Los Gigantes in Tenerife. Go on Google it! Our hotel was the Sensimar Los Gigantes which I also recommend.

June brought us some beautiful fashions with floral playsuits with frills and bows to off the shoulder dresses and more bardot styles which I am just obsessed with!

Fashion

There are amazing sales going on at the moment, I picked up this beautiful shirt in Zara when shopping with my mum who has been staying with me this weekend on a visit.
This shirt was in the sale for £17.99 reduced from £25.99 which goes for the majority of their shirts at the moment, so grab yours while you still can. I was drawn to this shirt because it's just too cute- it has flowers printed all over it with giant flute sleeves! I'm going to team this shirt with some grey skinny jeans and my converse for a casual look. Dress this shirt up by tucking it in to a skirt or some smart trousers with heels.
Next on fashion and again from Zara is this cosy oversized long sleeved top. I love the stripes on this top, they almost look rustic and quite vintage which I'm all about! I love the way the stripes are horizontal across the middle and then vertical on the sides for a unique look. I'm actually wearing this top right now, it's great for just lounging around in or quickly throwing on over your jeans to grab some bits from the shop or walk the dog. It's so comfy and was only £7.99! Thank you Zara!
Moving on to footwear now- Topshop! These platform espadrilles were £26 which you might think is a bit expensive for a pair of casual shoes. I will say this- I have worn these espadrilles so much since I bought them, they are becoming my favourite pair of summer shoes so I can justify spending a little bit more. The quality is good, they are very sturdy and have taken a few days to break in- I have the blisters to prove it!

Makeup
I am still using my trusty Rimmel London Lasting Finish, I've just bought a brand new bottle but this time I got the shade lighter (100 Ivory) as I found "soft beige" was a little too dark for my skin tone and had to mix it with a lighter foundation towards the end. I still swear by this foundation and recommend it to everyone out there who are in the market for a new foundation. It's currently £7.99 at Boots, I got mine yesterday (2nd June). Instead of using a brush to apply, I'm now using a damp beauty blender sponge and haven't looked back since, which is another recommendation- Beauty Blender Sponge £16.99 from Boots or you can try Boots' own version for £3.60.

Next in makeup, (and there are quite a few items to get through!) One of my best friends messaged me about Makeup Revolution and a sale, that was it- I got this in the Superdrug sale last week and it's the Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette. If you spend over £12.00 on Makeup Revolution cosmetics then you will receive one of their eyeshadow palettes for free! I love a good bargain! Now, I've used quite a lot of these shades already there are some great transition shades and darker shades for the crease. You can do so many different looks, night and day with these colours- I love!

Moving on in makeup is this beautiful lipstick in the shade "The One" it's a gorgeous nude colour and comes with a little lip balm version on the end of the lid- adorable! The lipstick applies well and has a very subtle sweet scent, not too overpowering but just enough to notice. This lipstick is still on sale right now for £1.00 and there are loads of other shades to choose from, all at the cost of £1.00.
Next is my star buy from Makeup Revolution! I literally just ran out of my favourite Mac highlighter and have found a fabulous replacement. Makeup Revolution's Golden Lights highlighter for £3.00 at Superdrug! For £3.00 I wasn't expecting such an incredible formula! This highlighter is super blinding, highly pigmented and applies beautifully. This highlighter is not for the faint hearted- if you prefer a subtle glow then this is not for you.

Next in makeup is the Makeup Revolution setting spray for £5.00 from Superdrug. I have never used a setting spray before but I've been seeing a lot of hype about them recently so I thought I'd try some out. This particular setting spray works really well for me, it doesn't really have a smell to it and it honestly freaked me out when I first used it as it felt like I was spraying water all over my full face of makeup! I'm used to it now and use it every time I finish my makeup now, I cant be without it! I love it!
Also from Makeup Revolution is this Ultra Face Base Primer for £.500 at Superdrug. I never really used primers very much but I have noticed that my makeup stays on for longer when I use it. The formula is like a clear gel that glides over your face and sinks in almost straight away leaving your skin feeling soft and ready for foundation. It's definitely worth trying for a fiver, I honestly believe it improves the longevity of your foundation and concealer.
Lastly in makeup is the Makeup Revolution Pressed Powder in translucent. While I was on holiday my Rimmel translucent powder got smashed up from the baggage control so I desperately needed a new translucent powder. So when my bestie said about Makeup Revolution I knew that I wanted to try their powder. So, this powder was £2.00 from Superdrug, it comes in a cute compatible complete with mirror and sponge, I don't use the sponge- just my large powder brush for my T-Zone oily areas. So I have to say, this powder is great! It keeps my oils at bay and does what it says so I'm really pleased with it.
Ok so that's everything for makeup and fashion, the last thing I'd like to recommend is this amazing perfume which I've blogged about before- probably this time last year. Maybe this is my Summer perfume! YSL Black Opium! Which is on the pricey side at £50.50 at Boots for 30ml. I got mine at the airport en route to Tenerife for slightly cheaper, then they had it on the plane for £38.00 and I was fuming!! One of my closest friends recommended this perfume to me a few years ago after she wore it one day and I had to know what it was. It almost smells like freshly washed sheets which I love!

Thank you June, it's been a blast! Now onwards and upwards to July where I'll be travelling to Manchester to visit my grandad for his 89th birthday!

Thank you for reading this blog!

May Favourites & My Recommendations | ReeTheBeautyBee

Hey!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend, it's a beautiful Saturday afternoon right now, the sun is shining and the smell of barbecues is in the air! It's definitely Summer time here in the UK. We've finally been blessed with some beautiful weather and everyone is making the most of it.

Fashion

I've been loving the summer fashion this season, there has been a lot of bardot style tops and dresses which I'm obsessed with! Just when I think I've got the perfect bardot top- BAM- I see another one teasing me in Zara or Topshop and I have to get it.
Let's not forget flute sleeves, frilly sleeves and tie sleeves!
I've also been seeing a lot of off the shoulder styles with beautiful floral prints and frills- they're so pretty and girly and they look amazing on everyone.
Also been loving wrap dresses too, I've got my eye on a couple in Topshop!

The embroided clothing is still going strong and yes I'm still obsessed with it- I'm currently sat in my Topshop embroided floral top right now! I've teamed it with an A line denim skirt and tucked it in at the front for a casual day time look.

Here are some of the dresses I've been wearing religiously this Summer!
Zara Floral dress £39.99

Zara Blue Stripe Dress £25.99

Zara Pink Dress £25.99

Makeup

Highlighter

This Summer I've managed to get my hands on a "Wet n Wild" highlighter which I snatched up from my holiday in Tenerife. It was only 5 euros but I've heard a lot of hype about their highlighters so had to try it out.
So the "Wet n Wild" highlighter is super blinding- I'm impressed. It's comes in a pencil form and is a cream product, I like to apply the highlighter to a brush before popping it on my brow bone, above the cheek bones, tip of nose and of course my cupids bow. I've always used my Mac highlighter so it was a big step to try something new, but the "Wet n Wild" highlighter gets a thumbs up from me!

Foundation
My Rimmel foundation is still going strong- I'm still recommending it to everyone who wants to know! It gives you a beautiful flawless finish with a gorgeous radiant glow.

Makeup Tools

I've been loving using my beauty blender to apply my foundation and concealer,  I'm never going back to brushes! It's so much more easier to apply and blend with the beauty blender rather than using a brush (in my opinion), there are no streaks and no stray brush hairs sticking to my face. I love the beauty blender and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Mascara
I've purchased a new mascara, this one is by Barry M and it is called "How I Roll" which can be purchased for £5.00 at Superdrug. So my first thoughts about this product was that I loved the packaging- the shiny purple definitely caught my eye and when I picked it up it felt expensive as it was heavy. When I opened it and looked at the wand I was impressed to see a good quality wand, it was slender with a comb like tip so you can reach every lash. When I use this mascara my eyelashes look super long! Well done Barry M- I love this mascara!

Skin Care
I've been a little obsessed with Neutrogena's Hydro Boost collection. They have a cleanser £7.99 an exfoliating gel £7.99 and my favourite- Hydra Boost Water Gel for £17.06! I know it seems like a lot of money for a moisturiser, but your skin will thank me.
I received a free sample of this moisturiser and I was so sad when it had finished that I had to go and get some more! My skin feels so healthy, fresh and looks radiant, another recommendation for you!

Thank you for reading today's blog! I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
