April's Monthly Favourites 2017 | ReeTheBeautyBee

Hey!

I hope you are doing well!
It's been a while since my last blog which was in February!!
I realise I never posted in March! Oops! I'd like to share a few of my favourite items that I've been using throughout April, pretty much every single day.

My hair hasn't been in the best condition lately, I decided to go lighter for Spring/Summer which means putting your hair and scalp through bleaching, which isn't great.

I've noticed that my scalp has been dry and flaky since then and this can be super annoying and quite embarrassing too- dandruff yikes!
So I decided to try the new Elvive shampoo and conditioner by L'oreal which claims to have clay extracts in it to help with scalp and hair damage like mine.
I was very sceptical about this product, thinking it won't work and that it could be a waste of time and money; I wanted to try it because I haven't heard of a clay shampoo or conditioner before and I like to try new things to blog about!

When I first used these products, for some reason I was hoping for a miraculous result and that the flakes would all be gone and my scalp would be beautifully nourished, why do we do that? I was wrong- of course.
I still had flakes and my scalp still felt dry. Bummer, do I give up? Nope- I wanted to persevere with this shampoo and conditioner.

Fast forward one week after using this product every other day in the week and the results began improving. I was seeing less and less flakes in my hair and my scalp was starting to feel less dry.

Fast forward even more to four weeks using this product and the results are fantastic!
No more dry scalp and no more flakes! I am super impressed with this product and it's taught me a valuable lesson- to be patient and to persevere, but most importantly- not to expect miracles after one use of a product!

So if you are like me and have a dry, itchy and flaking scalp, then this product could be perfect for you.
Obviously we all react differently to certain products; this worked for me, you aren't breaking the bank for this product and so I feel it's worth a try before you spend lots of money on an expensive shampoo/conditioner that might not work for you.

L'oreal Elvive extraordinary clay shampoo/conditioner for normal OR sensitive skin can be purchased from most supermarkets at just £3.00. What a bargain!

My next go to item that I've been using every day and night in April is the Vaseline intensive care essential healing moisturiser.
This stuff smells amazing! My skin feels super soft, nourished and looks radiant. If you suffer with dry skin like I do, sometimes to the point of cracking and bleeding then you should give this moisturiser a try.
This moisturiser can be purchased at £2.75 in most supermarkets right now! That is such a bargain, you need to go and try this out! I can't recommend it enough.

Switching it up a bit now with a fragrance!
I've actually had this fragrance for over a year, it's my go to Spring/Summer fragrance. It's so light and has a sweet scent with a hint of musk. It's called Apple Juice and is from Zara and only costs £9.99! It's a great fragrance to pop in your handbag to wear for work or school. Zara offer a variety of fragrances and I have a few others but Apple Juice is my favourite, I'll be popping in for a new one again very soon!

On to make up now! My favourite topic of all!
I have been absolutely loving matte lipsticks. I can't get enough of them! I'm really enjoying wearing nude colours for Spring and my go to Matte Lipstick has been Maybelline's Vivid Matte Lipstick at just £6.99 in most drug stores i.e.- Boots and Superdrugs. I've been wearing this lipstick every day; it's in the colour "Thrill" number 50 Nude. The applicator is angled slightly to give an easy application, it does transfer easily so be careful not to get it all over your nice white shirt! Make sure you pop it in your handbag as you will need to reapply throughout the day.

I always post about my favourite concealer and I still use it every single day so it would only be fair to put it in my blog again! Collection's lasting perfection concealer in the shade number 1 fair. I love this product, it goes on thick, blends beautifully, lasts all day.
What more could a girl ask for?
I would always recommend to use a transparent powder on top of this concealer to lock it in place and to ensure it's very capable long wear. This concealer has gone up slightly in price, in Boots it's £4.19 so I would recommend to buy online and shop around for the best price.

I decided to venture out for a new foundation that I haven't tried before. This is quite a huge deal for me because my holy grail has and always will be Estee Lauder's Double Wear. Unfortunately, it is £30 per bottle and this gets very expensive and so I've been researching the high street brands to find a great foundation at a low price.
I wanted to try Rimmel's Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation with comfort serum. I've read and watched a lot of hype about this foundation so had high expectations.
I wasn't disappointed.
I always apply my foundation with a brush, this product applies nicely with my brush and leaves my skin feeling soft, looking radiant and well moisturised when I wear this foundation. It is a lightweight foundation, I would say the coverage is buildable and I'm happy with the result.
For me, it lasts all day without separating or caking. I don't wear any primers under my foundation, but I always lock my foundation in using a transparent setting powder.
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour foundation can be purchased at Boots for only £7.99 right now! Another very good bargain- you won't be disappointed.

Lastly,
I've been enjoying embracing my bare face and freckles, especially when the sun comes out!
All of my freckles pop out through the sunny days and I've grown to love my freckles and have started to use less makeup during the day and appreciate what I have.
Some of those are big green eyes, freckles, full lips and my one dimple on my left cheek when I smile. I used to dislike these features, but not anymore.
So next time you look at yourself in the mirror, take a look at your features and take note of how beautiful they are.

I used to feel so self conscious when I didn't have my makeup on, I felt ugly and that everyone was looking at me.
Sometimes I wear a full face of makeup and sometimes I use minimal makeup and embrace my natural beauty. I love makeup and sometimes when I don't like looking pasty and pale I use fake tan and that's OK too, always do what makes you happy!
