LookBook May 2016 | ReeTheBeautyBee

Hi guys!

I hope you're doing well!

So here's a super quick LookBook for you!

I've been browsing the internet trying to find a maxi skirt that is versatile with a front split.

After quite a lot of searching, I found this one on ASOS for £7.99!

I was so happy that I found it, but then as I got to check out- it sold out. I was so sad!

I then looked up the brand "Pull and Bear" and found their website- the skirt was there!

I wasted no time at all making that purchase and received it in the post two days later.

I love this skirt! I can wear it with absolutely anything- it's just what I was looking for.

It's super versatile, you can wear it with Converse, sandals or ankle boots.

I like wearing it with my Topshop lace up black top and my fedora hat.

And for £7.99 you really can't go wrong with this skirt!

If you want to buy this skirt, visit www.pullandbear.com

Bank Holiday Baking | ReeTheBeautyBee

Hello everybody!

Happy Bank Holiday Monday!

What better way to enjoy this day than doing some baking! Especially as the weather is dull.

Yesterday I made white chocolate chip cookies, you can find the recipe on my previous blog.

I'm really enjoying baking at the moment, there's such a positive and fun feeling about it.

Today I decided to make a good old traditional Victoria Sponge Cake, so if you would like to make this...

Tools...

1. A large mixing bowl

2. An electric whisk

3. An icing spatula

4. Two cake tins

5. A cooling rack

6. Grease proof paper

Ingredients...

1. 200g soft butter

2. 200g caster sugar

3. 4 eggs

4. 200g self raising flour

5. 1tsp baking powder

6. 2tbsp milk

Icing

100g butter

140g Icing sugar

Raspberry or strawberry jam of your choice

The Method...

Preheat your oven to 170 degrees Celsius Gas Mark 3 325 Degrees Fahrenheit

Line your cake tins with grease proof paper

Cream together the butter and sugar

Add in the eggs and mix well

Gradually add in the flour, baking powder and milk mix until completely smooth

Separate the mixture into your tins ensuring a smooth and even finish

Bake for 20 minutes

Transfer the cakes carefully onto your cooling rack

Leave to cool completely before icing

For icing, mix together the icing sugar and butter until you have a thick and smooth paste

Use the spatula or a spoon to distribute the icing onto one of the cake bases

Spread a generous layer of your chosen jam on to the other cake base

Carefully place the jam cake on top of the iced bottom cake

Sprinkle with icing sugar

Enjoy!

I hope you enjoy making this cake as much as I did, it went down a treat and was a massive hit in our house!

As always, have a wonderful week and catch up soon guys!

Makeup Tips For Hooded Eyes | ReeTheBeautyBee

Hey guys!

I hope you're doing well!

So, the best way to know if you have hooded eyes is to check if the crease of your eye slightly folds over your lid.

I have been blessed with hooded eyes and I've learnt a few valuable tips that give the illusion of a wider and more open eye.

Having hooded eyes isn't a bad thing- we are all different which makes us who we are and unique. Life would be pretty boring if we all looked the same.

If you have hooded eyes, even just slightly, then follow these steps to create a great look for you.

Make sure you prime your eyes before applying makeup, this will make for an easier application and longer lasting makeup.

1. Select a neutral colour and apply to the whole lid

2. Add a slightly darker tone to your lower lid and bring it just above your natural crease.

3. Select a darker colour and apply this above the crease of your eye, this will give the illusion of a higher crease and will eliminate your hooded eyes.

4. Blend, blend, blend!

5. Line the upper and lower waterlines of your eyes to define your eyes.

6. Add a highlighter on your brow bone and inner corners of your eyes.

7. Apply your favourite mascara

8. Always apply this method with your eyes open so you can see all of your handy work.

Here are some useful DO NOT tips

1. DO NOT use a glittery or shimmery eyeshadow all over the lid. This will make your eyes appear droopy, smaller and dull.

2. DO NOT apply a dark eye shadow or eyeliner underneath your bottom lashes. This drags the eye down.

3. DO NOT use the dark crease colour below or directly on your natural crease. Once you open your eye you won't be able to see all that handy work you just did. It will all be hiding under the hood.

I hope you find this post helpful, enjoy the weekend have a fab one!

How To: Easy Plait Crown | ReeTheBeautyBee

Hey everyone!

I hope you're doing well and having a fab weekend.

My weekend has been spent mostly chilling, eating rubbish and watching telly.

OMG I am loving Britain's Got Talent at the moment.
There is literally not one episode where I haven't balled my eyes out!

I've been experimenting with a few different hair styles over the weekend and I've managed to come up with one that is easy to do and looks great.

For this style you will need some clear elastic bands.

It's so easy to achieve and will take you around 5 minutes- great if you're running late!

It's very versatile and you can wear it more formally with tighter plaits, or widen the plaits for a more casual style.

So, if you have thick hair like me first thing you will need to do is straighten your hair.

As my hair is super thick, I always find straightening my hair really helps before I style it, it just makes it a lot easier to manage.

Brush out your hair!
Make sure you thoroughly brush out your hair- you don't want to get half way through styling to have to pause at an awkward knot!

Now take your first section of hair at the top.
I took the top quarter of my hair at the front and started to french plait.
Don't french plait all of the hair, just until you reach the top of your ears.

Continue plaiting normally all the way down to the bottom and secure with elastic bands.

Do the same on the other side of your hair.

Widen the plaits if you wish to, or leave them tight for a more neat and formal look

Bring the plaits around to the back of your head- as loosely or as tightly as you wish.

Secure the two meeting plaits with another clear elastic band.

Now you have a beautiful plait crown!

(Excuse the no make-up!)

You can style the rest of your hair if you wish to, I just kept mine straight but I would love to see this hair style with curled hair- it would look fab!

A super easy to achieve boho chic plaited crown!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend guys, catch up soon!

My Favourite Moisturiser | ReeTheBeautyBee

Hello everybody!

Woohoo it's Friday evening- my hubby and I have ordered a takeaway and getting nice and cosy on the sofa with our little pooch George! TGIF!

I don't know about you but...this week has come and gone so slowly for me! I'm so glad it's Friday and the weekend is here. I hope you have a wonderful weekend whatever you're up to.

Recently, I went to the cinema with my hubby on a date night to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary. We watched the new Avengers movie- it is amazing! I recommend everyone to go see it if you haven't done so already- you won't be disappointed.

I was having a browse in my local pharmacy as my moisturiser had run out and I wanted to get something new.

I found this evening primrose cream for £1.00! Yep- that's right- £1.00!!
I love evening primrose cream, it always reminds me of my mum as she used to use this cream and it smells so lovely.

So, I thought I'd report back to you guys how I've been getting on with it as it's now been two weeks of using this cream every day.

My skin feels amazing, I have less spots and my make up seems to be applying better and lasting longer.

Evening primrose is very good for your skin and I believe it has Vitamin E in it which nourishes and moisturises your face very well.

So, if you're looking to try out a new moisturiser but you don't want to break the bank balance then look no further!

I'm so glad I found this cream as now, I won't be without it.

Have a fab weekend everybody and we will catch up again soon!

Fun At The Seaside & Favourite Hair Rollers | ReeTheBeautyBee

Hello everybody!

I hope you are doing well and enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having this weekend.

I have been to the seaside and took my baby boy George with me! It was his first experience at the seaside and he loved it!

I have recently purchased some sleep in hair rollers which were recommended by one of my besties and I'm so glad I've got them!

I actually got these from eBay for £19.99.
They are easy to put in and come with a dvd full of lots of tips on how to use them to achieve different looks.

You get 20 rollers in a pack and they are squishy and comfortable to wear.

I would recommend washing and drying your hair before putting them in, I have put them in when my hair was still wet as well.

They don't budge and I slept in them fine.

When I took them out in the morning I had lovely beach waves and so much volume!

Here's my hair after using the rollers.

I would highly recommend everyone to get these rollers, they are amazing! I'm so glad my bestie recommended them to me to try.

I like the beach waves look, you can control what kind of wave you want if you do it tight for a more promenant wave or loose for cute toussled hair.

Just add hair spray to keep your locks looking gorgeous all day long.

So now I'm off to make a roast chicken dinner! Yummy!

Have a great day and I'll catch up with you soon!

Brow Game On Point | ReeTheBeautyBee

Hello everybody!

I just wanted to make a quick post about brows!

That moment when you find your most favourite brow pencil!

Well this happened to me recently, I was out shopping and thought...

I think it's time to step up my brow game, I mean I've been using Mac eyeshadow to colour in my brows which does work but, I wanted to start using an actual eyebrow pencil.

So, I went into Boots and found myself in the Bourjois section and picked up the "Sourcil Precision Eyebrow Pencil" in the shade "Noisette".

This product was £4.99
I find it so easy to apply, I just follow the natural shape of my eyebrows, fill in any sparse areas and you're left with beautiful full looking eyebrows, which match my hair- that's always great!

The texture is smooth and creamy, it glides on nicely and stays in place all day.

It's also natural looking and not like lego brows!

Let me know which eyebrow pencils, gels or shadows you use, I'd love to hear all about it.
For now, this new brow pencil is my favourite thing ever!
